SRSLY Apparel

Date: 2022
Role:
Designer, Illustrator, Social Media Strategist
Association: Operations Management

For a semester-long project, my team and I developed and launched a clothing brand called SRSLY. The concept was built around our mission to provide customers with high-quality, minimalistic apparel that encourages them to be the best version of themselves while remembering not to take life too seriously. With a target market of college students, this message felt especially meaningful as we balanced demanding schedules filled with classes, work, and extracurriculars.

Working as a fully functioning start-up, we combined our individual strengths to build a profitable brand from concept to completion. Our responsibilities included (but were not limited to):

  • Creating our mission statement

  • Designing the logo

  • Implementing our brand strategy

  • Launching a marketing campaign

  • Managing our finances and working within a $1,000 budget

  • Fulfilling orders

As part of the marketing and design team, I collaborated closely with teammates to shape the brand’s identity and communicate it effectively. I designed the logo and created social media content to engage our audience and drive sales.

By the end of the semester, we sold 81 of the 85 sweatshirts produced, priced at $35, resulting in a $733 profit and a 26% gross margin.

This project offered an invaluable hands-on experience in branding, marketing, teamwork, and business operations, far beyond what can be captured in a single paragraph. Below is the final report our team presented to a panel of judges, which outlines the full scope of the project. Be sure to click the left and right arrows to see the full report.
